REVIEW: It’s Christmas everyday at new pop up bar extravaganza

Wish everyday could be Christmas? Well now

it can be at Nottingham’s newest pop up bar ‘It’s Christmas everyday Extravaganza!’

It’s been described as every 80s/90s kids’ Christmas Day. There’s all your favourite Christmas songs playing as you enter this wonderful magical place above the dive bar Billy Bootleggers. As you walk in the festive cheer hits you with a life size Santa, candy canes, gorgeous baubles and an inflatable snowman. It sounds a bit much - but trust me it’s not.

We sat down to a table and were excited to see the classic Christmas crackers ready to be pulled. As a vegetarian I ordered the vegan seitan roast loaf, whilst my meat-eating companion opted for the classic Christmas dinner (reasonably priced at £15.95 each).

The vegan roast was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. The loaf had so much flavour, and paired with the vegetables was the perfect combination. The roast potatoes were crispy and soft, and the sage and onion stuffing balls were incredibly moreish.

The meaty meal was equally as delicious - tender meat, Yorkshire puddings and duck fat roasted potatoes. Even though not a fan of sprouts, my partner said they were the best he’d ever had.

And if you thought it couldn’t get any more festive, think again! We were surprised to find they were screening a Home Alone marathon at the venue to go along with your Christmas feast.

If you’re looking for a good old-fashioned Christmas Day and can’t wait until the 25th, this is the place to go. The staff are so helpful and friendly, and there’s a sense that the owners really love what they do.
